Willimantic, Conn. (WTNH) — Two women have been taken to the hospital after their cars collided on Main street in Willimantic Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 1:00 p.m., police responded to an accident call on Main Street. Officers told News 8 that a car being driven by an 89-year-old woman struck another car being driven by a 27-year-old woman, causing the car to rollover onto its roof.
Both women were transported to Windham Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Officials did not release the name of either driver.
Main street was closed between Dunham and Clark streets until 3:00 p.m. while the accident scene was cleared and police conducted their investigation. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
