March honors veterans in East Haven

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Veterans were honored in East Haven on Tuesday. They marched from Main Street to the green with local and state officials.

One 95-year-old Marine Corps veteran from Branford says he appreciates all of the support he is given year round.

“I really do appreciate it because no matter where you go, I wear my hat a lot and people come up to me and say thank you for your service, so young people realize that it means a lot to them too,” said John Moore.

Moore went to war with his five brothers. One of the brothers was killed and his remains were recovered some 66 years later.
