Would-be armed robber hit in head with coffee pot

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH)– Waterbury police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant Tuesday night.

Police say an armed man came into the Clam Digger on Wolcott Street, but didn’t make off with any money. They say an employee hit the suspect over the head with a coffee pot, then was chased off.

According to police, no shots were fired during the incident and no one was hurt.
