Annual FoodShare Food Drive’s Turkey Tuesday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Thousands of struggling Connecticut families are looking for a little help to put food on the table during the holiday season, and that turned this Tuesday into “Turkey Tuesday” for the volunteers at FoodShare.

Tuesday is the 16th annual FoodShare Food Drive, and people came to FoodShare to donate all kinds of holiday food items to help those in need.

“It’s still a huge number,” said one FoodShare volunteer. “19,000 families have asked for a little help. If we fall short someone will go without this Thanksgiving.”

FoodShare hopes to provide enough food to help 20,000 local families. If you’d like to donate you can find a complete list of resources on the FoodShare website.
