PLAINFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)- A Chaplin woman is facing charges for allegedly lying about a home invasion back in September. Plainfield police arrested 40-year-old Angela Pearl today, after they say she reported a home invasion on September 30 that was actually staged.
Police say they were called by Pearl to a home on Juniper Lane back in September, on reports she was home with a 2-year-old child and heard someone breaking in. Police say when they got there, several doors in the house were open, and a bedroom window was smashed. They found the child and Pearl, safe, but said the house had been ransacked.
After investigating, Police determined the home invasion was staged by Pearl, in an attempt to steal money from the home.
Pearl is due in court tomorrow, and faces a number of charges.
