Berlin Turnpike closed due to car crash

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) –  The Berlin Turnpike and Route 5 Southbound is closed between Superior Avenue and Main Street until the area is cleaned up and safe for drivers and pedestrians. The Northbound lanes are now open.

Police are still on the scene of a car accident that happened Saturday morning.

Police say a truck hit a utility pole at 2661 Berlin Turnpike. CL&P are on the scene because of wires on the road.

At this time it is unclear if there are any injuries.
