Healthy Traveling Tips

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Traveling for the holidays can leave you feeling sore or stiff, especially with all that sitting. Being in small spaces can make your muscles feel tight.   Dr. Robert Kipp and his assistant Bryana Shrum join Brian Spyros on set to talk about things you can do to prevent that stiff feeling.

You want to make sure to stop the car every hour or two when you are driving.  Make sure to get out of the car, stretch and go for a small walk.  You can also do some stretches in the car or on the plane or train.

Tips for overcoming chemical stressors. Nutrition is a big part combating stressors.

Pack healthy snacks for the trip
Drink lots of water/limit alcohol intake.
Eat a small healthy snack before holiday meals. It keeps the sugar cravings down and avoids over-indulging.
