Driver charged with DUI after wedging car under tractor-trailer

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– A Norwalk woman is charged with DUI after an accident in Westport early Saturday morning.

Police say around 1:45 a.m., they responded to an accident involving a car and a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Post Road East and Church Street South. According to police, they found the car on fire, wedged under the tractor-trailer, and the driver outside the car.

The driver of the car, 52-year-old Ainsley Friedberg, is charged with DUI and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Police say neither Friedberg nor the tractor-trailer driver were injured.

Friedberg was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 18.
