BERLIN, Conn. (WTNH)– A Cheshire teenager was killed in a one-car crash on Route 9 in Berlin around 2:15 Saturday morning.

State police say 19-year-old Isabella Gozzo, a passenger in the car traveling south near exit 21, was killed in the accident.

The driver, 22-year-old Anthony Longo of Berlin, lost control of his vehicle and went off the shoulder, according to state police. They say Longo and Gozzo hit a light pole and rock wall before the vehicle rolled several times, and Gozzo, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

Gozzo was taken to Hartford Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Longo was also taken to Hartford Hospital. Police say he was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

A vigil is scheduled for 7 o’clock Saturday night at Cheshire High School.
