Car crashes through house in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Police in Hartford are on the scene of an accident involving a car hitting a house.

It happened on Tower Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. Police say a car hit a utility pole, then a fire hydrant before hitting the house.

The driver was thrown from the car but has non-life threatening injuries. No word on the damage to the house, but houses in the area were evacuated as a precaution.

CL& P shut down power to the area while fixing the pole.
