SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — South Windsor police seized almost 50 bags of heroin in an undercover drug bust in the parking lot of a busy home improvement store Friday.
The East Central Narcotics Taskforce, which focuses on drug sales in Manchester, Vernon, South Windsor, and Glastonbury, conducted the undercover bust in the parking lot of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store on Buckland Road. Before the bust was setup, taskforce members conducted a lengthy investigation to determine who their suspect was, along with the amount of heroin that was being sold recently.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Jose Colon, of Hartford, better known by his street name, “Angel”. Colon is accused of selling heroin at various locations around South Windsor, including near the Lowe’s store.
Colon is accused of several charges, including multiple counts of sale of heroin, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating with a suspended license, and misrepresenting a substance as a controlled substance. He is being held on a total of $550,000 in bonds..
