Plainville infant found unconscious

PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH)– Plainville police responded to a home on Stillwell Drive around nine o’clock Wednesday morning after an infant was reported unconscious.

Police say the baby was taken to the Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General and was then flown to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center via LifeStar. According to police, the baby suffered injuries was in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses say the baby was lifeless, arms out at its side and dark in color, and it did not look good.

“I saw them come out with the little child, one of the guys had an oxygen mask on the baby’s face, and they got in the ambulance and a police car escorted them out,” said Plainville resident Bob Savard. “There were sirens going.”

Plainville detectives, the State’s Attorney’s Office, and the State Police Major Crime Squad are investigating the incident.
