(WTNH)– Remember good ole Bill Nye the Science guy? Well he’s back and using some 21st century tools to teach kids about evolution.
In true Bill Nye fashion, the science guy created an educational video for children. Except this time Nye tried something different to connect to kids today, who with texting and tweeting almost speak a different language. So Nye teamed up with the website Mashable and decided to use emojis, or emoticons, to explain to kids the basic concepts of evolution.
The video is only a little less than two minutes long and was posted on YouTube on December 12th, but has gone viral and has already over a million hits.
The video was filmed in a pop-up #EmojiScience lab in New York City that was created by GE, where ” it has turned the Periodic Table of Elements into the Emoji Table of Experiments.” The caption goes on to say “there’s science in everything- even emoji.”
