Woman struck by car in Naugatuck parking lot

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH)–  A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car in a Naugatuck parking lot Wednesday afternoon. Police responded to the accident at the Friehofers Bakery Outlet on New Haven Road.

According to police, the pedestrian was putting groceries in her trunk when she was struck by a car that was backing up. Police say that pedestrian suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Waterbury Hospital. Those injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.

The woman driving the reversing vehicle was also taken to the hospital. Police say her injuries don’t appear to be serious or life-threatening.

The identities of those involved in the accident have not been released.
