Pedestrian struck, killed in Torrington

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– A 51-year-old Torrington man was struck and killed by a car on Migeon Avenue on Friday night.

Police say David Perkins was hit outside of Scarpelli’s Restaurant at 6:31 p.m. When police arrived, they found Perkins lying unresponsive on the side of the roadway.

Emergency crews transported Perkins to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Migeon Ave was closed at Route 272 until 11:30 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the 2007 Honda Accord that hit Perkins cooperated with officials. No charges have been filed yet as of Friday night.
