Stamford shooting suspects flee, captured in Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH)– Norwalk police say they have three people in custody after a shooting in Stamford Friday night.

Stamford police say the shooting occurred at 14 Ann Street.

Stamford police say the suspects fled the shooting on I-95 northbound and that the victim followed them. According to Stamford police, the suspects fired several shots at the victim’s car on I-95 near exit 16. They then got off the highway in Norwalk and were spotted by police, Norwalk police say. Stamford police say the suspects crashed in front of Penny’s Diner on East Avenue and then ran. They say one of the suspects threw a .9 mm handgun.

Train service was shut down in the area for a short time. Metro North says police asked them to shut their power down while they pursued one of the three suspects, but trains are running on schedule once again.

It is unclear if anyone was struck by bullets or injured in the incident.
