Woman accused of hitting police cruiser

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A West Hartford woman is accused of hitting a police cruiser and then not stopping

It happened Thursday while the police cruiser was pulled over with the lights on and conducting a traffic stop. Police say Jennifer Newton, 28, was drunk when she sideswiped the cruiser and kept going. Newton was pulled over and arrested a short time after the incident.

Now Newton is facing multiple charges including operating under the influence. Newton’s out on bond and due in court Christmas eve.
