Double shooting in Hartford leaves one dead

HARTFORD, Conn (WTNH) — Hartford police are investigating after two males were shot and one killed Saturday morning in the city’s 18th homicide of the year.

According to police, two males were shot in their car in the area of Hendricxsen Avenue near Colt Park. Emergency crews responded to initial 911 calls at 5:41 am.

One of the males was shot in the head and was transported to the hospital where he later died, police say. The other male was shot in the shoulder and is currently listed in stable condition.

According to officials, the shooting was contained within the vehicle.

Police have closed off a large area alongside the East side of Colt Park while detectives investigate the crime scene. Police are still gathering information and looking for suspects.
