STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Interstate 95 southbound has reopened in Stratford after crews put out a car fire just before the Moses Wheeler Bridge Monday morning.
The fire was reported just after 10:00 a.m. Monday morning between Exits 34 and 32. The driver was able to escape the vehicle without injuries.

Fire crews arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire. It is unclear what may have started the fire. Police are conducting their investigation.
Interstate 95 southbound was reopened to traffic by 10:45 a.m. There were significant backups while the road was closed, but the traffic flow has returned to normal in the area.
