Fairfield couple hospitalized after being struck by car

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two Fairfield residents are in the hospital after being struck by a car on Commerce Drive on Friday night.

According to police, James and Jeanette Stelato, of Fairfield, were walking to Pepe’s Pizza when a 2000 Plymouth Neon struck the couple while they crossed the street.

The accident happened just after 7:45 pm.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Chourouk Abourazzouk, of Fairfield. Officials have not said whether the driver will be facing charges.

According to police, the two pedestrians and the driver were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Accident Investigation unit of the Fairfield Police Department.
