Norwalk police investigate stabbing, assault

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH)– Norwalk police are investigating a stabbing and assault that happened early Friday morning.

Police say a 40-year-old man was in front of his Snowden Street home when three man came looking for his 36-year-old brother. They say he tried to call the brother, but the men dragged him to the corner of Austin Street and Lexington Avenue where they attacked him with a bat.

According to police, the 36-year-old went to help the victim, but the suspects stabbed him multiple times. Police say hospital staff called them when the victims showed up at Norwalk Hospital around 3:30 a.m. The stabbed victim underwent surgery but his injuries are not life-threatening, according to investigators.

Investigators say the beaten 40-year-old has been released from the hospital.

No arrest have been made in the incident.
