EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) — A retired East Windsor police officer is being investigated in connection with allegations he asked “law enforcement friends” to kill a Chicopee, Massachusetts, man accused of posting a Facebook comment threatening police.

The Journal Inquirer reports ( ) that authorities say the former Connecticut officer, Raymond “Doug” Humphrey, made a comment on his Facebook page in reference to an alleged post by Chicopee resident Charles DiRosa.

Police in Massachusetts say DiRosa wrote on his own Facebook page, “Put Wings On Pigs,” a threat similar to one made by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who authorities say fatally shot two New York City officers on Dec. 20 and killed himself.

Humphrey, referring to DiRosa, asked friends to “kill him dead.”

He has an unlisted telephone number and did not immediately respond Friday to a request for comment on Facebook.
