HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The city of Hartford will continue to provide a free, complimentary roadside assistance 40 hours a week, thanks to a $50,000 grant.
It’s all part of the program called ‘Hartford Guides’.The guides will be licensed security officers who are professionally trained and experienced in providing service. The assistance will include automobile lock-out, jump start, emergency refueling, and tire re-inflation service.
The guides will be continuing to serve as eyes and ears for Hartford’s public safety professionals. Any activity requiring attention of first responders will be immediately reported via portable radio directly to Hartford Emergency Dispatch Center.
Actual hours of operation will be published when plans are finalized.
