Hartford fire 911 tape released


HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A fire ripped through an apartment in Hartford Monday, forcing two people to jump from second- and third-story windows to escape the flames.

Now, we’ve got the 911 calls.

“Dispatcher: Hello Hartford Emergency?”

“Caller: Yes, there’s a fire here 1115 Albany Avenue.”

“Dispatcher: What number ma’m?”

“Caller: 1115!”

“Dispatcher: OK, what’s on fire?”

“Caller: The house on top of me is on fire!”

“Dispatcher: OK”

“Caller: I’m coming out.”

“Dispatcher: Make sure everybody gets out the building, OK?”

“Caller: I’m coming out right now.”

Four families are now without a home, including nine adults, and two children.

One person had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
