Man found dead in Waterbury driveway

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterbury police are conducting their investigation after a body was found in a driveway on Mitchell Avenue Thursday morning.

Around 7:00 a.m., police responded to 34 Mitchell Avenue on a report that a man was found dead in the driveway. Waterbury Deputy Police Chief Christopher Corbett confirmed that a male body has been found, but was unable to release any further details.

Police are still on the scene. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

“I mean, I wouldn’t think anyone would get hurt or killed, but everywhere is crazy,” said Sharaya Goodman, who lives nearby. “You never know.”

“In this area in particular it’s pretty hot,” said Adrian Villegas, who lives nearby. “Not a very good place to be around.”

“I saw a body covered with a sheet,” said Jozmel Brown. “Blood was on his face and his hand was sticking out.”

If you have any information that could help officers in their investigation, you’re asked to call Waterbury police at 203-574-6911.
