Yale-New Haven Hospital welcomes first baby of 2015

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital welcomed their first baby of the new year just 17 minutes into 2015.

At 12:17 a.m., parents Patrick Smith and Ann Werner of Hamden welcomed their brand new son, Declan Richard Smith, into the world. He is the first child born at Yale-New Haven Hospital this year, and he may be the first baby born in the state in 2015.

Declan weighed in an 6 pounds, 3.5 ounces. He is the family’s first child. Mother and baby are doing well.
