Bridgeport principal accused of embezzling in court

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – An elementary school principal from Bridgeport will be in court on Friday.

46-year-old Marilyn Taylor was arrested for stealing money from her own students. Taylor allegedly stole more than $10,000 from the Dunbar Elementary School fundraising account.

Officials say she used the money at Mohegan Sun.The Superintendent of Bridgeport Schools says the missing money was discovered by the business office in October.

Taylor was placed on administrative leave on November 10th and will not return to her job. She’s charged with first degree larceny.
