LifeStar takes Ski Sundown skier to hospital

NEW HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A man in his early 20s is recovering after he was found unresponsive at Ski Sundown.

Officials say around 3:45 Friday afternoon, ski patrol crews discovered the hurt man. His identity and his injuries have not been released. However, LifeStar was called to the scene.

Ski Sundown officials say their ski patrol was well prepared to handle the situation.

“They go through extensive training,” said John Hinrichs, Duty Manager. “They thought it was prudent that he get seen by further medical personnel.”

The New Hartford Fire Department and state police assisted with the call.

The man’s current condition is unknown, but Ski Sundown says he was wearing a helmet.
