Missing kayaker is identified as New Hartford woman

Crews have found the kayak a missing woman used to go on West Hill Lake Thursday night.

NEW HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A kayaker missing since Friday on a pond in New Hartford has been identified as a 53-year-old woman.

Connecticut state officials have identified the woman as Patricia Cole of New Hartford.

State police and Environmental Conservation police responded at 6 a.m. Friday to a report that a kayaker had been missing on West Hill Pond since the night before.

The search has been suspended due to ice conditions. Authorities say it will resume as soon as possible.
