Public can attend Connecticut inauguration

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — There are opportunities for the public to take part in Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s second inauguration.

On Wednesday, opening day of the General Assembly, the traditional inaugural parade will step off near the intersection of Jewell and Trinity Streets in downtown Hartford. The public can watch the parade as it proceeds under the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, turning right onto Capitol Avenue, past the State Capitol.

The parade begins at 11:30 a.m.

For those who want to see the Democrat take his second oath of office, they can attend the ceremony at the William A. O’Neill State Armory. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and seats are first come, first served. The ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m.

Later in the day, Malloy will address state lawmakers at the Capitol.
