DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH)–Dressed in black while enjoying a breakfast sandwich at Elmer’s Diner in Danbury, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Guidice says goodbye to her lavish lifestyle for the next 15 months. She left her multi-million dollar home to serve her time for bank and mortgage fraud at FCI Danbury, a minimum security federal prison.
Katie Edery of Danbury says, “She could do worse than ending up in Danbury.”
This prison does have some popularity as it’s reportedly the inspiration behind the new Netflix show “Orange is the New Black.”
Elmer’s manager Alex Nova says Guiduce sat with two men, likely her husband and lawyer. In a TMZ photo, there’s just one person shown at the table with her. Nova says, “It was probably her last meal before she went away.” News 8 asked, “She didn’t seem upset? ” Elmer said, “No. I didn’t notice anything.”
Minutes later it was down the street to live her new life without her husband, four daughters, freedom, and fabulous wardrobe. Now, she must be In her provided khaki uniform five days a week and no statement jewlery. She’s allowed a religious medallion or a wedding band with no gems or stones, She’ll be sleeping next to strangers, and she’s allowed only 300 minutes a month of phone time. She will also be up very early and assigned a job.
Only time will tell how the reality star known for her fiery personality will adapt to this new reality. Her lawyer, James Leonard, says she’s ready. “She was anxious to get in and get this started. Get this thing behind her,” said Leonard.
Guidice’s husband will serve a three and a half year sentence once she does her time.
