Bridgeport police look for hit-and-run vehicle

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– Bridgeport police are looking for a vehicle they say was involved in a hit-and-run Saturday.

Police say the vehicle, which appears to be a Jeep, hit a retractable gate for a fence in the area of 114 Fairmont Avenue, then fled. They say the fence sustained significant damage in the accident.

According to police, the Jeep fled from Fairmont Avenue to Beers Street towards Madison Avenue. They say the vehicle is missing its right rear passenger-door molding and has heavy front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call Detective Martin Heanue at (203) 581-5242 or Detective Art Calvao at (203) 581-5240.
