NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Flu season is here and things are only getting worse.
29 states are reporting high levels of flu activity and the vaccine doesn’t work as well with this strain. But doctors recommend you still get the flu shot.
This year’s strain is also more dangerous than previous years.
“The strain that is out there this year something called H3N2 in the past has been linked to bad flu years, more hospitalizations, more deaths,” said Dr Richard Besser, ABC News Chief Health and Medical Editor.
The flu has been blamed for the deaths of 29 children around the country. For warning signs of severe flu symptoms, click here.
