(WTNH)– Thousands of people are coming forward to help a dog abandoned by his owner.
ABC News reports that Kai, a male shar-pei, was found sitting in a train station in Scotland. His leash was tied to a railing. A suitcase with his belongings, including a dog bowl, food, pillow and toy, was beside him.
“Kai is around two to three years old and is a lovely dog with a nice nature,” said Scottish SPCA Inspector Stewart Taylor.
The animal welfare charity has stepped in and is trying to locate the neglectful owner. The dog was micro-chipped so they were able to track down the previous owner who had sold Kai in 2013. He did not have information on the latest owner.
It is an offense to abandon an animal in Scotland.
