Craigslist Ad Leads to Robbery and Arrest

West Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) – West Hartford Police have arrested a man who replied to a Craigslist ad for an Iphone then stole the phone and fired a BB at the seller.

Police say 24 year old Martel Davis of Oakwood Ave. met the seller on Westphal St after responding to a Craigslist ad.  Police say the seller took a picture of Martel to document the transaction but when it was time to pay Davis got out of the vehicle they were in, pointed a BB gun at the seller and fired a shot missing the seller.  The seller was able to identify Martel as the suspect and police found him and the BB gun at his Oakwood Ave home.

Martel is charged with robbery 1st degree, larceny 5th degree, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and carry/bandishing a facsimile firearm.
