Man bites cop during arrest

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- A Milford man is arrested on an outstanding warrant- and bites off more than he can chew- literally.

Police say 27 year old Albert Dias had an outstanding warrant for his arrest after they received a complaint regarding a stolen wallet from Schick. The wallet contained a credit card that was used to make unauthorized purchases at a nearby pharmacy for $618.85. Dias, who was employed at Schick at the time, was confirmed to have used the card.

Police then took Dias into custody, but Dias became combative with several officers, resisted their efforts and attempted to bite one of them. three of the officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest. Dias is charged with Criminal attempt – assault on a police officer, interfering with police, larceny 5th, credit card theft, receiving goods by illegal use of a credit card, illegal use of a credit card.
