Milford man sentenced for embezzlement

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– A Milford man was to sentenced to time behind bars for embezzling from his employer.

David Liptak, 50, was sentenced to 10 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release Wednesday. According to court documents, Liptak embezzled about $108,000 from Westport’s Consolidated Management Group from June 2008 to March 2012. Liptak was also ordered to pay full restitution and a $3,000 fine.

In May 2014, Liptak pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of money obtained by fraud. He was ordered to report to prison in February.
