1 person hurt in New Haven shooting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – One person was shot near Dixwell Mini-Mart in New Haven. Police received a 911 call reported someone had been shot on 284 Dixwell Avenue around 9:06 p.m.

Police found 20-year-old Darrell Bulls with a gunshot wound to his right hand. Bulls was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital by ambulance for treatment. His wound is not life-threatening.

The victim was not cooperating with detectives. Witnesses say the shooter was a man with dread-locks who was in the company of two women.

They say the shooting may have stemmed from an argument inside the shop. No arrests have been made.
