Morning crash sends two to hospital

Connecticut commuters faced tough road conditions Friday morning. (WTNH)

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)- As flakes were still falling Friday morning, Hamden police had to respond to a car crash on Whitney Avenue.

According to police at approximately 7:15 a.m. Hamden Police responded to the area of Whitney Avenue and Tuttle Avenue on the report of a motor vehicle accident.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on Whitney Avenue crossed the middle of the road and struck a vehicle traveling southbound. The operator of one of the vehicles needed to be extricated. Both operators were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The injured individuals are not being identified pending the notification of family.
