(WTNH) — The sun has set on 2014 — and on New Year’s Eve before the ball dropped in New York City, Hilkka sent some beautiful shots from Greenwich as the sun dropped behind the Big Apple. And as the sun rises on 2015, we are ushering in some colder weather.
Cold is something people living in one Waterbury apartment building know too well. They decided to report it to NEWS-8, telling Noelle Gardner the heat’s been out for two weeks.
“I’ve got five space heaters upstairs and it’s still not working,” said Tracy Woods.
The building’s management company says a boiler broke.. and a new one has been ordered. And the city tells us management – which was issued a violation – has been complying with an order to provide space heaters.
We saw kids and pets layered up. And we saw a little snow. It was enough to slick up the roads.
But for the most part it was light — pretty, actually — kind of like a coating of powdered sugar across Connecticut.
The new year means a new term for Governor Dannel Malloy, birthdays for Coraline and Kayleigh and a return to the ice for the teams from Fairfield Prep and Notre Dame West Haven. Patrick hopes it’ll be the year the sidewalk on South Water Street in New Haven is fixed and a lot of us hope gas prices keep moving in the same direction.
Whatever the new year means to you, we hope you’ll continue to report it.
