Hamden police investigate weekend shooting

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)- Hamden police are looking for a man accused of shooting another man during a fight. According to authorities, on January 10th, shortly after midnight, Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Morse Street on the report of a shooting.

Investigation revealed that the 24 year-old victim and his girlfriend were walking on Dixwell Avenue, when they were approached by an individual, described as a black male, 25 to 30 years of age, 6′, medium build, with a mustache. A verbal altercation ensued.

Moments later, the victim and the suspect, proceeded behind a Hamden bar to fight. The victim was then shot once in the groin, behind the bar. The individual fled on foot southbound on the Farmington Canal Trail.

The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
