Teen arrested in attempted robbery of pizza driver

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Hamden police have made an arrest in an attempted robbery of a pizza driver last month.

Police say they arrested a 17-year-old Hamden High School student at the school Monday morning. They say they had a warrant for his arrest.

According to police, on Dec. 16, two people approached a Legend Pizza driver making a delivery on Manila Avenue. Police say while the driver was in his vehicle, one suspect pointed a gun at the driver’s head and threatened to shoot him if he did not give the suspects his car. They say the driver tried to disarm the suspect, then safely sped away.

The 17-year-old suspect is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery. He’s scheduled to appear in court Jan. 22.
