New Haven, Conn. (WTNH)– The funeral for a New Haven firefighter who died last week has been set.

The viewing hours for firefighter Linda Cohens has been set to begin at 8 AM Saturday at the Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church at 782 Orchard Street in New Haven. The funeral will begin after the calling hours end at 9:30 AM.

Cohens was found unconscious outside her home in Hamden Sunday morning. She was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital later that day.

Nick Scasino, owner of the Fireside Bar and Grill, said Cohen’s persistence saved his uncle’s life after telling him he needed to get to the hospital. “The type of person that Linda was, I guess she was just conscientious of the situation,” said Scasino. “A half hour later she came over and said, ‘Did you take him to the hospital yet?’ She said, ‘I’m insisting he goes to the hospital.’”
