HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 60 months in jail after authorities say he was dealing heroin.

Police say Eric Colon pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to sell 100 grams or more of heroin. Cops say that he got the drugs from another man, co-defendant Jose Rivera-Baron.   Investigators say that Colon and co-defendant Joshua Saez made a deal to get drugs from Rivera-BAron.  They say they all met in the parking lot of a restaurant on Franklin Avenue in Hartford.   Colon was seen driving away and cops say they think Rivera-Baron was robbed and chased Colon.   They were able to catch up with Saez, but didn’t chase Colon for public safety reasons.

Colon was arrested in October 2013 and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess and sell heroin in October of 2014.

More than 20 individuals have been charged with narcotics distribution and related offenses as a result of this investigation
