Valley homeowners interrupt burglary

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH)-  The owners of a house on Cots Street in Shelton got quite a surprise when they returned home the other night. A woman who they didn’t know was inside of the place. After a short discussion with the woman, they called the police.

When officers got there, they saw a woman, later identified to be 21-year old Chelsea Hiztler, running in a nearby wooded area. After a short chase, police were able to take the Shelton woman into custody.

Hitzler made her first court appearance today on charges of burglary, larceny and interfering with an officer. She is now being held on a 75-hundred dollar bond.
