Man airlifted to hospital after fire

North Canaan, Conn. (WTNH) — An elderly man was transported by Lifestar helicopter to Hartford Hospital after a fire in North Canaan on Wednesday.

Crews were called to Salisbury Road Wednesday afternoon for a fire, fire officials say the building was about 10 feet by 15 feet big . Norfolk Fire Department says an elderly man suffered respiratory problems and burns to his face from the fire. He was transported to Sharon Hospital by ambulance before being flown to Hartford.

No word on his name or condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
