Police searching for hit and run driver

Plainfield, Conn. (WTNH)– The Plainfield police are currently searching for a driver in a hit and run that happened on Wednesday.

According to police, emergency responders were dispatched to the roadway in front of the East Main Street Subway for a report of a male who was struck while crossing the roadway.

When officers arrived, they found 25 year old Justin Davis lying in the shoulder of the roadway. Davis told police that we was walking westbound on East Main Street when he was struck from behind by what he described as a maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee. He was transported to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam by ambulance for his reported injuries.

Police found a side rearview mirror from the vehicle where Davis was located. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 860-564-0804.
