Scotland volunteer firefighter charged with sexual assault

SCOTLAND, Conn. (WTNH)– The Scotland man arrested earlier in the week for allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile is a volunteer firefighter in town.

David Trudeau, 41, was arrested Wednesday. Ray Arnott Jr., President of the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department, issued a statement regarding the arrest Saturday.

Effective January 14, 2015, upon his arrest, David Trudeau’s membership is suspended in full pending the results of the criminal investigation being conducted by Connecticut State Police. Mr. Trudeau in not permitted to respond to emergency calls, attend department events, or represent the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department during this suspension.”

Trudeau is charged with sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $500,000.
