Bill Nye the Science Guy refutes Patriot’s ball deflation claims

(WTNH)– Bill Nye the Science Guy appeared on Good Morning America Sunday to talk about #deflategate where he called out the Patriot’s ball deflation explanation, saying it made no sense.

On Saturday, Patriot’s coat Bill Belichick held a press conference where he explained the results of an internal study into how the footballs are prepared to quarterback Tom Brady’s liking. He discussed how most of the steps are designed to make them tackier for a better grip but the process could also affect the pressure inside the ball.

This scientific explanation earned Belichick an instant new nickname as “Bill Belichick the Science Guy” so Good Morning America decided to call in the real Science Guy, Bil Nye, to see what he thought.

Nye then basically explained that everything Belichick said didn’t make sense. He showed that rubbing the football would not change the pressure of it and that to really change the pressure, you would need to use an inflation needle.
