WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WTNH)– People who planned on flying in or out of Bradley International Airport the last couple of days are most likely going to have to wait. Lots of people are still trying to figure out their flights.
Bradley is now officially open, but air travel is far from normal. Three delta flights arrived, with not an empty seat found on them. Many of the passengers had been stranded in airports across the country. One plane from Atlanta turned around Monday in midair and sent back to Georgia. The reunions began Tuesday night as people returned home on one of the few flights into the airport.
“I saw everything was being canceled and I was lucky enough to get on this flight and here I am,” said Pete Fantasia of Naugatuck.
“Are you worried about your house and everything at home?” we asked.
“Absolutely,” said Fantasia. “I have no idea what I am walking in on and hopefully everything is good.”
While airport operations has done there part it will take a while for flights to catch up. There will be more canceled flights Wednesday and it may take another 24 hours for the airlines the be back to normal.
